The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) unequivocally condemns the dastard attack on Kajuru Castle and the killing of 2 tourists at the popular resort on Friday night, April 19th 2019. We are saddened by the news of this brazen banditry that led to the death of Ms. Faye Mooney, a British aid worker, and Mr. Matthew Oguche, a Nigerian, while visiting Kajuru Castle in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna.

Miss Apex Queen Nigeria 2019 for May 11

Preparations are in top gear for the hosting of this year’s edition of Miss Apex Queen Nigeria 2019. The beauty pageant, which made its entry into the Nigerian pageantry calendar last year, is set for its grand finale and award night billed for May 11 at Gracepoint Hotel, Wuse, Abuja.

The pageant is the pet project of Queen of Tourism Nigeria 2017, Miss Favour Amarachi Uzochukwu, who hails from Anambra State and a final year student of History and Diplomatic Studies of University of Abuja.

The second edition of the prestigious International Tourism Transport Summit And Expo is scheduled to hold at the international Conference Centre Abuja from 29th to 30th April 2019.

The federal government has hinted on the discussion with Cape Verde on plans to begin air transport relationship in line with existing Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) between the two countries. Nigeria’s Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, made the disclosure after a meeting with Cape Verde representatives during a sideline meeting at the just – concluded  First ICAO/UNWTO Ministerial Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa in Sal, Cape Verde.

The 2019 edition of Abuja cultural carnival will gulp N82.109 million, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said.

The yearly carnival meant to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage is coordinated by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

The minister said that Cultural Centres established by Nigeria in China and Brazil were good for marketing the image of the country to further make the outside world appreciate Nigeria and Nigerians better.

As part of its commitment to human capital building and deepening reportage of the tourism sector, the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has scheduled a four day training programme for the Nigeria tourism media under the auspices of the Association of Nigerian Journalists and Writers of Tourism (ANJET).

In a statement by the Acting Director General of NIHOTOUR, Alhaji Kabir M. Momoh, the training section is scheduled to hold between April 8 and 11 at the Kapital Klub and Apartments, Asokoro, Abuja.
