From June, 2020, when the Coronavirus scourge must have abated, the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) will become operational, making the continent the world’s largest free trade area involving 55 countries with a population of 1.27 billion people, and a combined GDP of $2.6 trillion. The development is expected to increase trade among African countries that is currently put at a lowly 16 per cent.

Buhari Rejects NIHOTOUR Bill and Others

President Muhammadu Buhari, has rejected 13 bills passed by the 8th Nigeria National Assembly, including the National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Establishment Bill, popularly called the NIHOTOUR Bill. However, the President assented to 9 other Bills. 

Mr. Ita Enang, the President's Liaison Officer to the Senate, told National Assembly Correspondents yesterday, that more bills passed by the Eighth Assembly are still being expected by the President and promised to take action as soon as he was in possession of them.
