Nigeria cultural tourism community witnessed its first successful count down to a post covid 19 new normal engagement with a drive- in artistic experience, held at the open grounds of Sheraton hotels, Abuja on Sunday.
The event, shoveled with very tight security, social distancing and a must wear mask protocols, ushered in selected car owners strategically connected to a special program frequency for sound, dedicated pavilions and over forty visitors convenience.
Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Segun Runsewe has advocated the use of culture as a therapy against Covid-19 pandemic. Stressing the potency of culture to address all human challenges, he said that culture is the totality of the ways of life of a people and therefore could be employed to solve all human problems.
In his words, the NCAC boss noted that the same way Medical Doctors use theatre as a place to heal the sick, and Artists use the theatre to educate and entertain, culture is a theatre of the mind and soul.
Director-General of the National Council for Art and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Segun Runsewe, has disclosed plans to move the headquarters of the World Crafts Council (WCC) to Abuja. This is also as he praised travel and tourism writers in the country for driving discourse and ‘constantly pushing agenda and operators to improving the tourism sector of the national economy.’
