UNWTO and World Travel Market to Host Ministerial Summit

 Investment in innovation and smart management for tourism will form the major theme of the Ministerial Summit of this year’s World Travel Market, to be held in London, UK (6 November 2018). The 2018 Summit, a joint initiative of World Travel Market and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), will debut a revamped format.

Nigerians of the Igbo extraction in Ghana will on September 22, 2018, celebrate this year's Igbo Day and New Yam Festival. The event theme is, 'Celebrating Igbo culture in the diaspora'. This year's programme which will come off at the Efua Sutherland Children's Park will also congregate hundreds of cultural troupe from Nigeria and Ghana.

Madrid, Spain, 11 April 2018 - The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Government of Spain and the Principality of Asturias are organizing the 2nd UNWTO World Conference on Smart Destinations (Oviedo, 25-27 June 2018). The Conference will discuss the principles of 21st-century tourism destinations, marked by governance, innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility.

The event, which is being held for the second year in a row, will bring together experts from around the world to discuss the opportunities and challenges arising from the development, implementation and management of innovative products and services based on new technological solutions.

“Innovation and technology present a unique opportunity to transform tourism into a more competitive, smarter and more sustainable sector,” said UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili.
